Acting Technique (ages 9-12)
This brand new Acting class will lead students to the steps necessary to become a skilled actor! Honing your acting and improv skills is an excellent way to work through stage fright, improve public speaking skills, create interesting characters, take risks in acting, learn to "think outside the box”, and trust your gut instincts. Students will learn basic acting techniques & improv exercises and eventually will be assigned age and content appropriate scenes and learn how to bring them to life by using the techniques taught in class.
Broadway Dance (Jazz/Ballet/Tap) (ages 8-12)
This Broadway Dance class teaches dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Develop your inner performer and focus on Broadway-style dance moves in this lively class. Classes incorporate ballet technique combined with jazz movement, including warm-ups, stretches, and combinations. This class also includes an introduction to basic tap techniques and understanding of rhythmical concepts. Broadway shows range in dance styles from ballet to hip hop and dancers should be familiar with all styles. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions which is essential for any musical theatre performer!
Showstoppers! (Singing class) (ages 7-11)
Do you love "The Voice", "Pitch Perfect", and "Glee"? Then check out our Showstoppers class! In this class, students will learn to prepare and perform different styles of music while focusing on pitch, rhythm, music reading skills, and musicality. Students will also have the opportunity to explore harmonies, learn fun choreography, song lyric interpretation, facial expressions, and overall performance skills. Get ready to find your inner superstar!!
Triple Threat (Singing/Dancing/Acting) (ages 8-12)
If you are looking for a class to hone your skills as an all-around performer, this is the class for you. From the beginner to the more advanced student, Triple Threat Technique combines singing, dancing, and acting all in one class. Being a triple threat is essential for any performer who wants to have success in school shows, community theatre productions, college theatre, and/or professional theatre. The more technique, talent, and training a student has in all three of these genres, the more marketable they become. In this class, students will learn exercises to train the voice and body through music, movement, and characterization. Students will learn to communicate a story to the audience using materials from Broadway shows. This class also helps to develop stage presence, learn audition techniques, and provide an overall knowledge of performing in musical theatre.
